In this book Ken Follett has taken inspiration from real tales and combined them to create the story Flick Clairet and the Jackdaws. Flick and her team felt so real and vivid because of Follett's descriptions and he created them a brilliant adversary too. This is a brilliant book; gripping, educational and full of courage and Dunkirk spirit!/5().

It's about a group of women operatives (most of them criminals or malcontents) who are given a chance to serve their country and clear their records if they undertake a dangerous mission in France to blow up a Nazi communications center just as the D-Day invasion begins.4/5.
